Close the door
on your old home.

You love and cherish your home. You want the next owner to fall in love with it, too — through photos, through words, and through the experience of walking through your front door. But, perhaps most, you want to get the price you want.

This isn’t a small task. It’s been your home, where you’ve lived and made memories. Chances are good it’s your most important asset and your biggest investment so far. Wrestling with the emotional heft of putting your home on the market is a difficult byproduct of real estate — but when you seal the deal and move on to your next chapter  — wow, what a feeling.

Mark got the word out everywhere on our listing and, after lots of amazing effort on his part, sold our house at the Open House. 18 days on the market.

My husband Daniel and I recently went through the home-buying process for the third time together. We moved into a three story townhouse in Smyrna nearly 7 years ago to be out of our apartment in Dover before the lease needed to be renewed. After months of searching 7 years ago, a townhouse was the only thing that had everything we wanted in a house for our price range. But we never wanted a townhouse, so we knew that house was temporary, not a "forever home."

I knew how long it took to find that house, so I really wanted to get a jump on looking for a new house so we would eventually find one we wanted. Daniel was hesitant at first, but willing to at least look. In our neighborhood Facebook group, a neighbor of ours, Mark Baer, had posted he was an agent and willing to help someone in the neighborhood buy a new house if they were ready. Dan was already friends with him, so I figured he would be the best option for us.

Mark was a wonderful buyers' agent. He was honest and real about everything while at the same time not pushy or aggressive. He was well-informed and gave great advice. After looking at dozens of houses online and several in person, we found one that both of us knew immediately was "the one." We had concerns, as we hadn't gotten our house remotely ready to sell, as Dan had not been super serious about getting a new house. But we put in an offer anyways that was accepted after some back and forth (and amazing work by Mark!) with the sellers. And then the real panic set in... We requested a 60 day closing, which meant we needed to sell our house. ASAP. And we were nowhere near ready. We busted our patooties to get the house in ship-shape, and Mark busted his patootie to get all the paperwork ready to sell our house. He scheduled an open house for the weekend after Easter, just 18 days after we listed.

Mark got the word out everywhere on our listing and, after lots of amazing effort on his part, sold our house at the Open House. 18 days on the market. All of mine and Dan's nerves were relieved, and we moved through the rest of the moving process and closing process with ease. After buying two houses before, Dan and I were fully aware that the rollercoaster ride usually starts AFTER the offer is accepted. But everything about this process was hassle-free, in large part thanks to Mark's amazing work. We would highly recommend him both to buy and sell.
